Proof of collateral

Check your collateral yourself, at any time.

Your pledge sits at an address created for your loan only. Paste it into any public block explorer and you see what we see: the balance, every movement, every confirmation. No request to us, no waiting.

  • Read-only: no wallet to connect
  • Independent public explorers
  • Continuous, not a yearly snapshot

How it works

Three steps, no permission needed.

Proof of collateral means you can see your own pledge directly on its blockchain, at any moment, without asking us and without relying on our reports.

Nothing to connect, nothing to sign

A block explorer only reads the blockchain. You never need to connect a wallet, sign a message or enter a recovery phrase to check a balance. A site that asks you to is a scam.

  1. In your client area

    Find your address

Open your loan in your client area: the deposit address is shown with its network, and on your collateral receipt. It belongs to your loan only.

  2. Any public explorer

    Paste it into an explorer

Explorers are independent websites that read the blockchain directly. No account is needed, and you can use more than one.

  3. Balance and history

    Compare with your loan

The balance should match your pledge, and every movement a line in your statements: deposits and top-ups in, returns or liquidation sales out.

Network by network

Where to look, and what you will see.

Use the explorer you prefer. Checking with two independent explorers removes any remaining doubt.

    Paste
Your deposit address, which starts with bc1.
    You will see
The balance and every transaction, each with its number of confirmations. An address can receive several deposits: the balance is the total not yet spent.

  • Ethereum

    Paste
Your deposit address, which starts with 0x.

  • Solana

Explorer names are given as examples of independent public services. Lombard Private has no relationship with them and does not control what they display.

Reading the explorer

What you should see, and nothing else.

Your collateral’s address has a short, predictable history. Each line on the blockchain has a matching line in your client-area statements.

  • A balance equal to your pledge, plus any top-up, minus any partial liquidation.
  • Incoming transactions: your deposit and any top-ups you send.
  • Outgoing transactions, only when collateral is returned to the address you designated, or sold under the liquidation policy.
  • No other movement: collateral is never lent, staked or pledged elsewhere.

A movement you don’t recognise?

Every movement must match a line in your statements. If you see one you do not recognise, write to us at once from your client area, choosing the Security topic.

Check the address before every deposit

Before sending collateral, compare the first and last characters of the address with the one in your client area. Some malware replaces copied addresses with an attacker’s.

Right address, right network

Once a transaction is confirmed, it is final. A deposit sent to a wrong address or on the wrong network may be lost and cannot be reversed by anyone.

A different kind of proof

Proof of collateral or proof of reserves?

Some platforms publish proof of reserves: a periodic snapshot of their total holdings. A dedicated address lets you check your own coins, continuously.

Help centre

Where do I find the address of my collateral?

In your client area, on the page of your loan, together with its network, and on your collateral receipt. Only trust the address shown there after you sign in at lombardprivate.com: we never send addresses by message.

Which block explorer should I use?

Any public explorer for the network, for example mempool.space or blockstream.info for Bitcoin, etherscan.io for Ethereum, explorer.solana.com or solscan.io for Solana, and tronscan.org for Tron. Explorers are independent of us, and checking two of them removes any doubt.

Why is the balance slightly different from the amount I sent?

Your wallet or exchange may have deducted a network fee before the coins arrived, so the amount received can be slightly lower than the amount sent; your loan is based on the amount received. Top-ups add to the balance and a partial liquidation reduces it, and both appear in your statements.

I pledged USDT or USDC but the explorer shows a zero balance. Why?

Stablecoins are tokens. On Ethereum and Tron they appear among the address’s tokens and token transfers, not in its ETH or TRX balance. On Solana, USDC sits in a token account linked to your address and is listed under its tokens.

Can my collateral move without my knowledge?

It can only leave its address to be returned to the address you designate or to be sold under the liquidation policy, and each movement appears in your statements. Because the address is public, you would also see any movement on the blockchain.

Can other people see my collateral?

Anyone who knows an address can see its balance: that is how public blockchains work. We do not link the address to your identity, which we do not know. Keep the address to yourself, and remember that an exchange you sent the coins from knows where they went.

Do I need to connect my wallet to verify my collateral?

No. Checking a balance on an explorer is read-only and needs no wallet, no account and no signature. A website that asks you to connect a wallet or enter a recovery phrase to verify your collateral is a scam.

Pledge collateral you can always check.

Price your loan in seconds. Your collateral gets its own address, visible on-chain from the first confirmation.
