How it works
How a large loan comes together.
The same steps as any loan, with an advisor beside you and a payout planned around your bank.
A tip for large amounts
Banks sometimes hold a large incoming payment to ask about its origin. Letting your bank know in advance avoids delays, and your loan agreement and payout statements, available in your client area, document where the funds come from.
Open your account
Generate your account number and set a password. Before a large pledge, add a passkey or an authenticator app and store your recovery kit offline.
Message the desk
Tell your advisor the amount, the currency, the collateral and your timing, by secure message in your client area.
Agree your terms
Loan-to-value, credit line or fixed term, rate and payout schedule are confirmed in writing before you pledge anything.
Send a test amount
Many clients first send a small amount to the address of their loan, check it on a block explorer, then send the balance.
Pledge the balance
Your collateral is credited after the network confirmations: 2 confirmations for bitcoin, 64 blocks for ether.
Receive the funds
Large amounts can be split into several transfers or timed around your bank’s limits and cut-off times. Your advisor plans this with you.
Stay in touch
Your advisor follows the loan with you: alerts, top-ups, partial repayments and renewals, all in your client area.
Payouts
Large amounts, paid the way your bank prefers.
Four currencies, by bank transfer to the account you name. Your advisor chooses the right rail and timing with you.
Euros
By SEPA Instant where your bank accepts the amount instantly; otherwise by standard SEPA transfer, usually credited the next business day. No payout fee.
US dollars
By Fedwire to US accounts, or by SWIFT elsewhere. SWIFT payouts are charged at cost, and intermediary banks may deduct their own fees.
Pounds sterling
By Faster Payments, subject to the scheme’s and your bank’s limits; larger amounts can be split into several payments. No payout fee.
Swiss francs
By SIC to accounts in Switzerland, credited on Swiss banking days, or by SWIFT to accounts elsewhere.
At any size
The same privacy, the same safeguards.
No documents
Your account is a number, whatever the amount. We never ask for identity documents.
No email, no phone
Your advisor writes only in your client area. Nobody from Lombard Private will ever call you.
Its own address
A large pledge sits at its own on-chain address, in multi-signature cold storage, verifiable at any time.
Never put to work
Not lent, staked, pledged or rehypothecated. It stays put until you repay.

Questions
Private desk: straight answers.
Anything else? Our advisors answer by secure message from your client area, 7 days a week.
Help centreWho is the private desk for?
Clients borrowing €250,000 or more, and anyone who needs tailored terms above €2,000,000. Below that amount the same loan is available in self-service, with the same rates and safeguards.
How do I contact the private desk without email or phone?
By secure message in your client area, 7 days a week. Your dedicated advisor replies there too. We never email, text or call, and nobody from Lombard Private will ever ask for your password or recovery kit.
What rate do I get on a large loan?
The rate of your loan-to-value, reduced by 0.5 point from €250,000 and by 1.0 point from €1,000,000. For bitcoin at 50% loan-to-value, that gives 10.4% and 9.9% APR. There are no arrangement or exit fees.
Can I borrow more than €2,000,000?
Yes. Above that amount, terms are tailored by the private desk. Send your advisor the amount, the collateral and your timing from your client area.
Can a large loan be paid in several transfers?
Yes. Depending on your bank’s limits and cut-off times, your advisor can split the payout or time it so that it arrives smoothly.
Do you ask for documents for large loans?
No. Your account remains a number whatever the amount. The only detail involved is the bank account that receives the funds.
Should I send a test transaction first?
For large amounts it is good practice: send a small amount to your loan’s address, check it on a block explorer, then send the balance to the same address. It is recommended, not required.
